About Derby Bach Choir
The
choir was formed early in 1959 by Wallace Ross, who was Master of Music
at Derby Cathedral; he was followed in 1991 by John York Skinner, previously
one of the world's great counter-tenors. Richard Roddis, one of the
Midlands' finest choral conductors became Musical Director in 1999.
During these years the reputation of the choir has continued to grow
and audiences have increased.
Derby Bach Choir is recognised as
one of the finest in the East Midlands and with an increasing number
