An Evening With Bach

Saturday 1st April - 7.30pm
Derby Cathedral, DE1 3GP

On April 1st, Derby Bach Choir will perform a collection of works written by it's favourite composer. The Magnificat in D will be accompanied by a collection of pieces from larger works - offering an enjoyable and varied selection.

The first and last movements the Christmas Oratorio and the B Minor Mass  will provide majesty, and two solos from these works, Grosser Herr and the Agnus Dei will add joy and poignancy. The programme will also include the less well known Gloria from the Lutheran Mass and Cantata 118.

Richard Roddis will conduct with his usual skill, and the choir will be accompanied by The Baroque Ensemble led by Nicolette Moonen. Hugh Morris will play Organ Continuo.

Soloists Julia Gooding and William Purefoy are returning to sing with us, and we welcome Jason Darnell and Mike Dewis to sing tenor and bass for us for the first time.

Tickets: £20 reserved, £16 unreserved, £5 students, under 16's FREE
